Type of car crash impacts injuries that might occur

People who are injured in car crashes sometimes decide to seek compensation for the damages. When this occurs, the circumstances of the accident sometimes come into the picture. One of the points that might matter is what type of crash the person was involved in.

The type of crash matters because it can have a direct impact on the types of injuries that can occur. Here are a few common types of car crashes that may come up in personal injury cases:

Pedestrian accidents and how to avoid them

In the good old days of the past, it was safe for pedestrians. Even if a horse was coming at you, there was a lot more time to evade disaster, and there was less chance that you'd suffer a catastrophic injury.

Fast forward a couple hundred years and it's impossible to avoid the danger of getting hit by a car. Even worse, pedestrians don't stand a chance in terms of injuries when they're hit by a multi-ton car. As such, every time you take to the road on your feet, it's important to be careful.

Consider these 2 causes of semitruck crashes

Semitruck crashes are sometimes devastating for the victims. Some might decide that they are going to seek compensation for the injuries that they suffer.

A major factor when you are developing your personal injury case is the cause of the crash. There are two serious causes of semitruck crashes that you should consider if the accident was the fault of the big rig's driver.

How are ovarian cancer and talcum powder linked?

Women use various feminine aids to help feel refreshed and clean throughout the day. Many women would assume that the products that are sold for this purpose would be safe to use. This isn't always the case.

Some women discovered that one product they were using wasn't safe at all. Feminine hygiene products sometimes contain talcum powder, which was linked to causing ovarian cancer if it is applied to the vaginal area. It has also been linked to lung cancer through inhalation.

3 important steps to take after a serious car accident

One minute, you're safely driving your car. The next, you're stunned and in pain after an accident caused by someone else's negligence. It only takes a second of glancing at a phone or forgetting to check before turning to cause serious injuries or even death.

If you've been in a serious car accident, there are certain thing you can do immediately after the crash to protect yourself and your family. Once the moment of the crash has passed, you may need to speak with an experienced personal injury attorney. After hearing the details of your case, an attorney can help you move forward.

Long-term use of talcum powder could have serious health effects

People have long used talcum power for a variety of reasons, but new information is coming to light that may impact how talcum power is used. A recent string of multimillion dollar lawsuits have been filed against the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson in regard to their talcum powder causing ovarian cancer in women.

The main claim of the lawsuits is that Johnson & Johnson not only chose to ignore evidence that their talcum powder had the potential to cause cancer, but also that they knowingly withheld the information from the public and from their customers. The evidence against them has been so compelling that in the last three lawsuits filed against them all juries have found them to be liable for damages. The money awarded has ranged from $55 million to $72 million.
